Transition to spring

Michiganders were in very high spirits for the past 10 or so days. We finally had a long awaited 'thaw'. We are always so excited to feel the temps rise, the sun shine, the snow melt, to hear the birds chirping...the signs that we may be turning the corner to a new season. Now I know that I have given up complaining about the weather for Lent so don't look upon this blog as complaining, but simply "Pondering". The problem with this burst of spring fever is that the once beautiful white snow melts and leaves all of it's ugliness behind. That and the fact that spring in Michigan can be somewhat of a teaser and turn out to be almost as long as winter, with a few bonus days thrown in. Anyway, the point of this blog is really not about how horrible it can be, but at how amazing the transition ultimately becomes. Take a good look around you. Do you ever wonder how anything will grow, bloom, become green...be beautiful again? But it does! Faithfully, every spring God shows us the wonder of His creation, the wonder of His plan.  I think I appreciate the beauty even more knowing that it came from complete ugliness. A lot like what God does in our lives because of His love for us!
