In my Pondering mind, daughter in law = daughter

Today is the birthday of the daughter (in law) I prayed for.

So as I like to do, here are some definitions:

*daughter-in-law - wife of your son

*daughter - a female offspring

Those are some pretty lame definitions of something so amazingly special.

So I looked up quotes about daughters -

A daughter is a gift of love. ~Author Unknown

A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer.-- Author Unknown

A daughter is a mother's gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of her self. -- Author Unknown
A daughter is a miracle that never ceases to be miraculous...full of beauty and forever beautiful...loving and caring and truly amazing.-- Deanna Beisser

All of these things I feel for Maggie.

I searched daughter-in-law quotes. I found nothing of value to anyone, let alone anything to do justice to the love I have for my daughter (in-law).

Then I found this poem.

With respect, loving kindness

We came together, you entered my heart

through the door, of my first born
Neither blood nor water can stop our love

Our bond as mother to daughter
Friendship and partnership is had

It all makes a circular path

Back to the love of my son

I have gained a daughter, friend, sister.

That pretty well sums it up.

Maggie, I love you with all my heart. I give thanks for the blessing you are to my son, to our family, to me!

Someone really needs to work on those definitions and update those daughter-in-law quotes.
