Pondering some of the bittersweetness of life.

Bittersweet - Tinged with sadness, Having a taste that is a mixture of bitterness and sweetness.

This is how I feel each time my kids leave home after a visit or when I visit them and leave to return home.

I have left Matt and Maggie in Nashville after a great family time spent there.

Alex returns to Seattle Pacific University tomorrow.

Scott returns to his busy life here in Holland. (I am thankful for our lunch times and his

Sunday afternoon laurdry visits)

My heart hurts.

But it hurts from deep love and that is such a great thing.

That is bittersweet.

And so, as Dr. Suess said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
