Some time in Seattle

We took a quick trip to Seattle this past weekend to visit our youngest son Alex, who is now a junior at Seattle Pacific University.  I always sort of dread the trip out there because it is long and air travel is not my favorite past time. But this trip was well worth all the travel time and hassles that went with it. We were able to spend some great time with Alex and with Jennie. We didn't even really do a whole lot...although we did eat a lot of great seafood as usual! We walked the streets of downtown Seattle, poked around Pike Place, drank some Starbucks and some local wines, visited Alki beach, I did some running with Jennie...all good stuff. But probably the best part was the times we really did nothing at all. We were simply together hanging out in our hotel suite watching NCAA lacrosse, and an MLL lacrosse game, ordering out for pizza and wings, having our own little happy hour, running across the street in the rain for dinner on Lake Union, eating lavender ice cream with ice cream crazy Jennie, and then some more just hanging out and talking late into the evening 'till I could hardly keep my eyes open and the kids decided to just stay the night at our hotel.....
Ahh!!!! The simple things of life are so precious and usually invlove the most important pieces of life.
I love you Alexander!
