The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”
“There can be no vulnerability without risk; there can be no community without vulnerability; there can be no peace, and ultimately no life, without community.”
These quotes by the author M. Scott Peck say a lot when I think back on the last few weeks of our lives.
We have felt discomfort, sadness, unhappiness, we have felt vulnerable, like all is lost, hopeless. But we have learned in a big way what community is...it is life, it is peace, it is hope, happiness, comfort...it is God doing his work through his people. One of the things that Matt and Maggie have said is that they thought this flood would be a lesson about "stuff", but it has turned out to be a lesson about community and God's people 'doing church'.
Oh, how good God is!!! in all circumstances!!!
"The great awareness comes slowly, piece by piece. The path of spiritual growth is a path of lifelong learning.”
“It is only because of problems that we grow mentally and spiritually.”
