Summer! It's official!

It is one of my favorite days of the year. It is the first day of summer, bringing the promise of warm, sunny days ahead. Today is the longest day of the year which gives us even more time to enjoy all that is summer. Here are a few of my favorite summer things:

• sun for basking in
• wearing shorts, tank tops, and flip flops
• flowers and playing in the dirt in my garden
• sitting on my deck with a good book
• sitting on my deck with a glass of wine
• doing the above mentioned with my BF.
• the beach with my toes in the sand enjoying the sun, the sound of the waves and others enjoying the same things.
• happy hour sunsets at the beach with the Broeks
• evenings on the front porch at the Broeks or on our deck
• Riding the Harley
• The smells of cut grass and flowers
• Codee laying on the deck in the sun and Ella laying in the shade
• an early morning run listening to the birds chirping
• the sounds of the neighborhood kids playing in the quiet of my backyard
• walking around downtown Holland or Saugatuck with my spousal unit
• a Sunday morning trip to Uncommon Grounds with Mark to sit outside with a coffee and a NY Times
• and a bonus would be a trip to Nashville for a little pool time with Maggie

Oh my, how my list could go on. 
This is the day God has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!
